<p>The Angolan government announced this week that they are joining with the World Health Organisation, the World Bank, Unicef, the Japanese Cooperation and others to spend $US 150 million on the fight against malaria in Angola. The amount will be spread over five years as part of the Roll Back Malaria programme.</p>
<p>And speaking of the RBI, Angola’s Health deputy minister, José Van-Dunem and a delegation of government official attended last week’s Zambezi River launch in Moxico province. According to AllAfrica.com, the minister stated that Angola’s malaria death rates have dropped significantly compared to previous years due to malaria prevention strategies including the supply of mosquito nets, medicines and eliminating stagnant water area.
